Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to I/O Nightly News.
Okay, with five minutes to spare, I'm writing this post. We'll see what time I post it. My PC is slow, considering I just woke it up from a six-hour screensaver. The party was great, and more tomorrow. Considering this is I/O Nightly News, I'll just leave you with something that sums up the evening. Apologies that it's not the official one, but getting that seems kind of Tricky with (now four) minutes to spare.

New Endings and New Beginnings
Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to I/O Nightly News.
Today the video-game ban ended, for no reason at all. My parents simply said "okay, you can play the Wii now". No mention of anything else. Strange. I'm going to take a mile here and assume it applies to PC games, too, which are my area of expertise. From the early 90's to just a few years ago, I've played most of the major titles.
DooM, Quake, Unreal, Descent, Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Starcraft, Age of Empires, Diablo, anything popular to some degree, I've most likely tried it. I do consider myself a connoisseur of games, however amateur I may be. By no means am I a legitimate reviewer, although I do write reviews from time to time and editorialize on aspects of gaming.
In recent years, Rockstar Games have come under heavy fire for their most notable series -- Grand Theft Auto. In particular, a certain piece of content in GTA: San Andreas, now known under "Hot Coffee", which depicts two characters having sex in all its glory.
Personally, I've never played a Grand Theft Auto, as of yet. Now's a good a time as any to start, I suppose.
The games themselves are supposed to be technical and gameplay marvels, so I'd like to see where the series got started, before seeing where it ends up, if I ever get there. Rockstar recently released GTA 1 and GTA 2 for free on their site. Registration is fake, however, so you can apparently put in anything you'd like into each field and it will (at least, from what I've heard) never be checked.
More on this sometime soon. The family is having a party tomorrow, so I may or may not get to post. Sunday's looking good though, so I'll post then, if not, sooner.
I'm signing off tonight with a musical masterpiece from GTA -- the main theme to GTA 3, which is a jazzy piece, focusing mainly on the piano and trumpet/sax combo for a main beat line, echoing in with a slight orchestral theme. Truly amazing. I like the music to games as much as I like the games themselves sometimes, oddly enough.

In Medias Res
Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to I/O Nightly News.
In medias res is a good a place as any to start narratives. For the sake of simplicity, a blog could be considered a roundabout narrative.
I'm in the middle of a lot of things right now. I'm in the middle of adolescence (psychological standards for adolescence have made it longer at both ends -- 12 to around 25), in the middle of my summer vacation, in the middle of college searches, in the middle of high school (well, end, really. Senior year begins in late August), and in the middle of a one-week ban on video games, instated by my parents.
Guitar Hero is my new least-favorite Wii game -- or at least one I'm boycotting until I crack from pressure and start playing it again. The designers need a Keyboard Hero -- it would sell millions.
I'm also trying to improve my Photoshop skills at least a little bit, even though I work with an old copy of Macromedia Fireworks MX. I can't create much of anything from scratch, but if I have an image I'd like changed, blended, inverted, or otherwise modified, I can easily do so. Entirely new creations from these photos though -- not much luck, either.
In the way of creation, I've also wanted to design music videos, of all things. Today's music videos are little more than two-million dollar sex jobs with some music on the side. I'd like to see something more meaningful, both from the music and from the video.
For example, in Coldplay's Speed of Sound, I can quite clearly see a man standing in a monochromatic Times Square (no traffic or pedestrians, of course), with birds flying overhead. When the singer hits the line "Birds keep flying from the underground / if you could see it then you'd understand...", I easily visualize pidgeons simply flying up and out of the pavement with a wave of the man's arm, with the color switching between black and white and full color, with the birds quickly phasing in and out.
Of course, these are just ideas. I know how to do many of the things I think about, it's just the act of actually doing them that is so tough. I'm the "Jack of All Trades", with my biggest flaw being that I can't actually trade. Oh well. At least I can do a few things pretty well, like breathe, eat, sleep, act, play video games, and study.
Perhaps I should continue what I've been doing with creations I'd like to change and use myself -- change things as I please. Sort of like Jack Nicholson as the Joker in 1989's Batman.

Introduction, Part Two -- I/O Nightly News
After an introduction of myself, I'll introduce this blog on the whole. This isn't an overly ambitious project of mine, I'm not trying to gain internet fame, I'm really just looking for someone to read and respond.
This blog will mainly be centered around my life with games, observations of people in general, wacky comedy tidbits, totally random ideas, questions, comments, concerns, and logical fallacies that nobody seems to point out to themselves or others. Of course, I'll try to blog about my life, that being what a blog is all about, but I'll try to bring news and other happenings or discussions in as well. I enjoy writing editorials, comedic or otherwise, about games that I play or I happen to see media personas commenting on, so I'll try to make a solid amount of my posts about that. However, I'll deviate as I please, thank you very much.
Also, as stated in my first blog post, I'll be adding in media from various sources to accentuate certain parts of the day's blog. If this blog gains any sort of popularity, I have a few tricks up my sleeve.
Namely, accessibility features.
A few weeks ago, I read in The Washington Post that blind users could not interact well with the Web, especially sites with a lot of media content. While not the best solution, I'm hoping to read the day's blog post(s?) and post the results on YouTube. I'm not doing this right off the bat, but if people eventually find this blog in its dark recess of the internet, I'm hoping to be able to do something similar to that.
I/O Nightly originally started out as Mobster Comedy, but at the risk of my personal safety, I chose I/O Nightly. Inside/Out has always been an interesting idea for my blog name, so I'm glad I remembered it. I/O serves two purposes, name-wise. Input/Output, stemming from basic computer usage, and Inside/Out, coming from something else altogether.
If you'll notice, journalism on many topics, from politics to religion to gaming to even social lives are viewed from an Outside/In perspective. That is, we are observers on information about others, ourselves, our ideas and our passions, and very rarely are we able to tell it from our side. Even if we are able to tell it how we see it, nine times out of ten, it will never be heard.
I'm intending to change a small part of that from a small part of the internet, on a small part of a glass sphere. It's a mad, "Mad World" out there, so let's start "Getting Mad".

Introduction, Part One -- Mr. Necktie
So, here it is, after much deliberation and waiting, another blog for the masses to consume, critique, compare and crumple, just another mindless page created to think that the average end-user means something.
It works, too.
I started this blog because I am an (almost) typical teenager living in the (once?) great country of America, looking inside out. I was encouraged by my parents to begin this blog after a new-found interest in writing. I've primarily written about the latest in media scapegoats -- Video Games.
I primarily play First-Person Shooters with the occasional stint into Role-Playing or Real-Time Strategy Games. I was born and raised on the classic Space-Combat Simulators of the nineties. A few of my personal favorites:
Half-Life (All iterations)
Unreal (and Unreal Tournament)
Team Fortress (1.5 and 2)
Portal
Starcraft and Starcraft: Brood War
Diablo II
Descents One, Two and Three
Descent Freespace: The Great War, Descent: Freespace: Silent Threat, and FS2_Open
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
And a whole host of other games, spanning five consoles and numerous PC's. Yes, I enjoy these games immensely, and I hope to continue to enjoy them as life progresses.
In lieu of other technology detritus, I cannot stand the likes of Facebook and MySpace. They're just food for the masses, pointless blogs made by people who haven't a life to live outside of pseudo-HTML, cheap themes, and ninety-six friends who change boyfriends and girlfriends every five minutes. I happened to choose Blogger because this seems to be more professional and easy to manage. Anonymity is a major plus, too. I really don't care who's "poking" me or what's being written on my wall. I'd like my voice to be heard, not be part of a never ending chorus line, driven endlessly by its own twisted machine.
Currently, I am looking into colleges for computer science and journalism (?). Of course, there's always more to come, as I'm hoping to make this a once-nightly (or daily, as the case may be), blog. I will do my best to spell everything right and get the facts straight, and keep potty-mouthing to an absolute minimum, unless I'm quoting.
Tomorrow, I'm hoping to introduce the point of this blog, some features, general ideas, and other house-cleaning activities. I will, however, attempt to satiate the never ending need for media, so I'll try to end each day's post with a song, image, or video that somewhat symbolizes that day's post, or just makes it interesting. Today's, we'll start with a song that inspired me to start this blog, and fits in with my rant on MySpace and Facebook: Tears for Fears' "Everybody Wants to Rule the World".
We still haven't hit day one yet, so please, in the words of Deckard Cain in Diablo II, "Stay a while and listen!"
